What is ISAC? ISAC is an informal, non-profit association of defense contractor,
Defense Security Service, and Federal Bureau of Investigation personnel. It was formed to assist
defense contractors in compliance with the National Industrial Security program and with the
protection of classified and company proprietary information through training for security personnel,
provision of security awareness media and materials, and dissemination of counterintelligence and
other security-related information.
ISAC-OK was formed in 1994. It is co-chaired by
representatives of the DSS, FBI and the OSBI. Members of the Council represent various cleared
defense contractor companies in the area. ISAC-OK is comprised of three (3) chapters operating in,
Lawton, Tulsa and Oklahoma City (also serves as State Chapter). ISAC-OK continues to promote security
awareness in the defense industry by focusing the collective energy and resources of government agencies
and companies on projects of mutual concern and benefit.
ISAC Objectives
- To work in unison with government agencies at all levels to ensure the fastest dissemination of and implementation of policies and procedures.
- Act as a clearing house to more effectively manage resources and reduce duplication.
- Create an awareness program which can reach smaller defense contractor firms.
- Enhance the realization of company managers and employees that sound security practices are essential to contracts, profits and jobs.
What is the ISAC Mission?
The ISAC Council and the various committees were created in order to:
- Coordinate and host training programs to provide affordable education to security professionals engaged in the NISP
- Act as a resource provider to develop and produce security awareness media which is made available to large and small contractor companies; and
- Assist company managers and employees recognize that sound security practices are essential to contracts maintenance, profit generation, and job continuity
